Welcome Workshop

Hello and welcome to this course!

The goals of the workshop are the following:

  • To become familiar with some fun and relevant resources on the web;
  • To become comfortable with using this class site;
  • To get into the research about EIL, ELF, EFLE, EGL, WE, Globish, etc...!

Planning

Go to The History of English: http://www.michellehenry.fr/language.htm. Find the LISTENING section. Read a poem with a neighbor. Note words you stumble upon. Now listen to the sound file and focus on the words you stumbled on. Go back to the main page and find 1 interesting fact that you did not know before to share in class!

 Coming to terms with the terminology. First work individually and fill in the worksheet. Then swap notes and discuss answers in groups based on someone else’s notes.
